Another year gone...

Phew, it has been a busy year! Lots of writing going on at Casa de Vaughn and I look forward to it being available for you to read in 2012. My hockey-themed romance novel Home Ice will be available in early 2012 and Submersed, an intimate erotic novel, will be ready in the spring, if not sooner. (fingers crossed).
Here's wishing you a jolly holiday filled with much too much eggnog and more presents under the tree than you can count! See you in 2012...

Texas Boys

They sure know how to grow ‘em in the Lone Star State.
A few examples:

Ben McKenzie (The O.C., Southland)
Jessie Pavelka (Diettribe) (maybe you’ve heard of his lesser known cousin Jake from The Bachelor)
Jared Padalecki (Supernatural)
Jensen Ackles (Supernatural)
Colby Donaldson (Survivor, Top Shot)
James Roday (Psych)
T.J. Thyne (Bones)

Is it my imagination, or do they all look alike in some way or another? Either way, the water’s just right in this gene pool!

Can you think of anybody I missed?

The Boat That Rocked

Just finished watching Pirate Radio.

I only watched it because Rhys Darby was in it, but it turned out to be a great movie.
Murray present!

A nice tribute to Rock & Roll and very funny, too!

Modern Day Crooner

Seth MacFarlane's new album is out now.

It's actually really beautiful music, but it's still hard to take him seriously because I keep expecting him to start singing like Peter Griffin. Seth was definitely born in the wrong era.

Too cute in his little suit!

Evgeni Nabokov returns

My first look at Nabby in an Islanders jersey.

It's nice to see him in net again. Or more like behind the net as he likes to play the puck a little too much for my comfort! It's been a long year without seeing him on the ice.
He even has ice girls to look at now! Maybe life on the east coast won't be so bad.

Oh, how I've missed that smile :) Welcome back Number 20!

Dano

Mike Modano announced his retirement today. Sheesh, these emotional press conferences tear me up!

Such a cutie!

In Loving Memory of Team Lokomotiv

I am utterly devastated by the news out of Russia about the hockey team that was killed when their plane crashed. The fact that an entire hockey team could be obliterated in the blink of an eye is mind-boggling. So many talented, young lives snuffed out for no reason. This news comes on top of watching 9/11 specials and I don't think I can take much more tragedy.

Write Like the Wind!

Sorry for the big gaps in posts as I'm knee deep in a new novel. It's a bit spicier than Home Ice and I can't wait to finish it so you can read it!

Gone Too Soon

Found out today that Showtime cancelled United States of Tara. I'm heartbroken because this is one of my favorite TV shows. I experience waterworks (that's a nice way of saying I bawl my eyes out) during almost every episode and I love, love, love the Gregsons and watching them work through their everyday lives.

I like the characters so much that I'd be entertained just watching them eat dinner! With Tara's DID, I know there would have been an endless supply of ideas to keep the show going. I think the show could have ran for years expanding on all the different alters.

Toni Collette is a genius. For someone to be able to play that many different characters on a weekly basis is amazing. I'll miss Tara, cutie pie Max played by John Corbett (who I'll always think of as Aidan), Kate and Moosh.

I'm glad Nurse Jackie was renewed (gotta love Coop!) though. It's a great show, but I don't have near as big of a place in my heart for it as I do for Tara.

Luckily, I have all three seasons on DVD and can watch my favorite family whenever I want.

Squigglies

One of these days, I’ll choose characters whose names my spellchecker actually likes. That little red squiggly line on my screen annoys me, but it’s not enough to deter me from using names like Izzy and Sebby.
